Technical Data Analyst

KBR, Inc. in support of the Volpe Center seeks a Technical Data Analyst that demonstrates experience in the analysis of user needs and the development of functional and non-functional requirements for web-based applications for the US Department of Transportation (DOT). Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance. This position requires an individual to have resided in the United States for 3 out of the last 5 years.

Essential Job function

• Evaluates, tests, monitors, and maintains information security policies, procedures and systems such as hardware, firmware, and software.

• Ensures security design, controls, and procedures are aligned with information security standards and are appropriate to mitigate risk of exposure.
• Identifies security violations, determines cause, and implements procedures to prevent future incidents.
• Works under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field.
• Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
• Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 3+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Basic Qualifications

• This position requires United States residency for three of the last five years.
• Must be able to be cleared for a position of Public Trust through the Department of Transportation.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, or related field preferred 5+ years of related experience.
• Understanding of customer mission, strategic goals.
• Experience working with business processes and re-engineering.
• Experience working with various functional groups within an organization.
• Experience with structured analysis techniques; analysis and design of transportation system applications for various architectures (simple to complex); system application prototyping; operating systems and hardware interfaces; database structures, location, and data elements; and/or system benchmarking and performance evaluation. 
• 3+ years of experience working directly with project sponsors and end users.
• Good communicator and adept at presenting

Other Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders: sponsors, customers, end users, and trainers, as well as project technical staff.
• Superior writing skills.
• Seasoned project management professional, with experience managing both plan driven and change driven project methods.
• Experience with the full suite of MS Office tools, including Microsoft Visio.
• Experience with development support tools, such as MS Project, Team Foundation Server, Jira, and SharePoint.
• Experience using one or more of the following prototyping tools: Axure RP, Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Visio, etc.
