Software Developers at FNZ are all-rounders who can work across the full stack. This role involves working with complex business requirements in a wide range of functional areas in the financial services and platform domain. In this role, you are responsible for continued learning both in the FNZ business domain and your technical skills as a professional software engineer. You achieve this growth through hands-on work, training, and interaction with your senior colleagues. Analyst Developers own nonfunctional requirements and are responsible for ensuring that their code complies with coding standards, is secure and performs well. At entry-level, you are responsible for learning best-practice in these areas from your senior peers.
About the Role
As a Software Developer at FNZ, you will collaborate closely with analyst testers, developers, and solution consultants to define user stories and design APIs for integration with our core products and third-party applications. Your primary responsibilities include translating complex financial business requirements into secure, high-availability systems, and designing intuitive user interfaces and financial tools. You will ensure that solutions are robust, reusable, maintainable, and performant by participating in code reviews, writing automated tests, and performing manual testing. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with industry practices and proactively resolve technical issues, continuously enhancing your technical skills and understanding of FNZ platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a talented team on high-volume, real-time transaction processing systems supporting millions of trades globally, and to contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial technology solutions. We predominantly work with C#, .NET and SQL.
Role Responsibilities
Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers to define user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring detailed and actionable requirements.
Ensure solutions are well-defined and fit-for-purpose, resolving technical issues to meet specifications and design requirements.
Design APIs and external system interfaces for seamless integration with FNZ products and third-party applications.
Transform complex financial requirements into secure, high-performance systems and build intuitive interfaces and tools for financial advisers and investors.
Develop high-volume, real-time transaction systems supporting millions of trades globally, ensuring solutions are secure, reusable, maintainable, and performant.
Build and deliver medium complexity features end-to-end, promoting code reusability and deepening your understanding of FNZ platforms.
Participate in code reviews, write automated unit tests, and perform manual testing to maintain high standards and prevent regression.
Engage in solution design and organizational communication, sharing knowledge and creative solutions across the developer community and broader FNZ teams.
Mentor new starters on platform and SDLC understanding, and deliver impactful knowledge-sharing sessions.
Stay ahead of industry practices and new technologies, proactively resolving technical issues that impede progress.
Innovate and solve problems using cutting-edge technology and creative concepts.
Experience Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar.
Experience working with the following technologies; C#, .NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, WebAPI and SQL Server.
Knowledge and/or experience with React would be advantageous but not essential.
Familiarity with financial products and markets
Prior experience working in financial services would be advantageous but not essential.
Understanding of web services and enterprise integration patterns.
Familiar with tools for code analysis and automated testing.
