We’re looking for a highly motivated, new graduate engineer that will work on a team that develops state-of-the-art communications systems for aircraft routers that support multiple ways (Gatelink Cellular, AoIP, SATCOM, IPSec VPN) of connecting the aircraft to the ground and the airlines in their pursuit of optimizing operational efficiency, improving safety and reducing operational and maintenance costs. These state-of-the-art embedded software solutions are primarily for our Airbus (IMO and FOMAX), and Boeing (Gateway and Core Network) customers, as well as various US Government projects.

What You Will Do:

• Design, development, integration and testing of our embedded software in C, C++, Ada and Python on Linux OS for our connectivity products
• Design, development, integration and testing of our customized Linux OS ecosystem, in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards.
• Prepare software builds for execution in a simulation environment, reference platforms and on the target hardware.
• Prepare embedded test solutions that support hardware qualification activities
• Work as an Agile team member with remote and global teams
• Actively participate in documentation updates, Peer reviews, Agile sprint reviews, User story refinement and demos
• Participate in root cause investigations for complex issues seen internally and by the customer
• Identify and advocate for improvement to processes, tools, and technical solutions which affect the team and/or product

• All phases of the software product life cycle from requirements through verification, while employing the company software engineering processes to produce high quality products.
• Elements of the embedded Linux OS ecosystem lifecycle and embedded test solutions, utilizing company processes and policies regarding open-source content and third-party intellectual property.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Qualifications We Prefer:

Prior engineering co-op or internship experience

Embedded software development experience in Linux OS environment

Exposure to the Linux OS ecosystem, in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers etc.

Experience with test failure analysis and troubleshooting

Exposure to networking and network security

Experience coding in C, C++, Python

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
