Department Overview

The Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. Every single day, we are shaping the future of mobile workgroup solutions for public safety and industrial users worldwide leveraging Motorola’s rich heritage in this space. Our solutions include broadband Push to Talk (PTT), multimedia messaging, location based collaboration, video streaming with full interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems. The products include client apps on Android, iOS, and Windows. Our backend software can be deployed On-Prem, in private data centers, or in a public cloud infrastructure.

Job Description

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.

Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements:
1. 3 to 4 years of development of automation, deployment tools, and scripts
2. Develop Enterprise-level Information Technology solutions
3. Actively participate in Product Enhancements, Maintenance and Support Activities

Technical Skillset:
1. Ansible hands-on experience to create a playbook and debug any issues in the playbook
2. Experience with bash/shell scripting to convert any requirements into code  
3. Python hands-on experience 
4. Experience in Docker, Containerization tools
5. Knowledge of Linux operating systems 

Good to Have: 
1. Understanding of VM creation in Azure portal either manual or Azure ARM template
2. Understanding of Azure networking 
3. Knowledge of Kubernetes/NGINX will be an added advantage
4. Knowledge of CI/CD through Azure DevOps
5. Knowledge of Databases and SQL queries

Soft Skillset:
1. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
2. Excellent Communication skills and a willingness to learn
3. Self-motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
4. Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
