About Sr Finance Analyst –Financial Planning & Data Analytics:

Gartner is looking for a well-rounded Sr Financial Analyst who can provide critical business partner support to our services business units. The candidate will be responsible for supporting Executive and Operating Committee members with data insights, budgets, and forecasts.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and their leadership teams to ensure all reporting and analytics are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide superior analytical and business support to the services business units to ensure they are equipped with the insight and analysis to support investments.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data, automate data extraction and develop new metrics.

  • Work on several initiatives that have unstructured data, derive key insights that are top priorities and automate the process by partnering with multiple teams like, BU leaders, product leaders, sales leaders, marketing leaders etc.
  • Develop actionable data science tasks and translate quantitative analysis into actionable business strategies.
  • Design and develop reports/dashboards using the data visualization tools and conduct data analysis.
  • Build statistical models to predict forward looking operational metrics.
  • Support the annual budget and monthly/ quarterly forecasting process.


What you’ll need:

  • 6+ experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Analytics or Statistics, or similar area required.
  • 4+ year experience with a master’s degree in technology, Analytics, Business administration, Economics, Finance, or related areas preferred.
  • Experience of working for a large organization delivering data insights/business analysis
  • Hands-on experience with designing and developing dashboards using self-service analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI – Dax, power query, power pivot, advanced data modelling, query folding etc
  • Expertise in at least one of the following statistical analysis programs: R/Python. Good knowledge of a querying language (e.g., SQL)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications required, Oracle & Hyperion a plus.
  • Effective communication, presentation and influencing skills in a matrixed organization.
  • Highly organized and able to handle simultaneous projects, gathering and processing data from multiple sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to extrapolate linkages between large amounts of financial and operational data, generate insights and distill complex concepts into actionable information.
  • Able to work independently and within a team structure to consistently deliver flawless work solutions within aggressive (and changing) time constraints.
