About this role

Gartner is currently seeking a Sr. Principal, Quantitative Analytics and Data Science (QUADS) to join the CIO Research Group.  As a senior quantitative expert, the Sr. Principal QUADS will lead quantitative research workstreams, drive the creation of strong evidence-based insights, and champion innovative data collection and data (re)use in research. This critical role will report to the VP, Quantitative Analytics & Data Science in the Technology Practice research team. 

What you’ll do

  • Partner with practice leadership and other senior members in the team to drive quantitative analytics strategy for the CIO Research Group.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners (e.g., qualitative researchers, Analysts, Advisors, Chiefs of Research, etc.) to execute the strategy.
  • Lead and oversee new-to-world quantitative research workstreams, including survey modeling, design, and writing.
  • Build quantitative models to test research hypotheses and analyze large data sets using advanced statistical techniques to identify actionable insights for senior executives. 
  • Convert research and survey results into clear narratives and visually compelling presentations with actionable recommendations that clients can implement.
  • Lead, motivate, develop, and coach team members on all aspects of quantitative research (including survey design, data analysis, data visualization and advanced quantitative methods).
  • Innovate ways to drive data use/re-use and connect research objectives to existing or new-to-world data.
  • Maximize ROI of collected data and QUADS impact by facilitating and expanding stakeholder partnerships across the Technology Practice.
  • Work across the Technology Practice and the enterprise to identify and contribute to high-impact, practice and enterprise-wide initiatives.

What you’ll need

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or above) in an analytics-heavy field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Policy Analysis, Operations Research, Psychology, etc.) 
  • Mastery of advanced survey and sample design and demonstrated record of relevant, practical application of survey design methods and ability to coach others on these.
  • Mastery of a statistical package (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, etc.) for advanced analytics (e.g., multi-variate regressions, logistic regressions, cluster analysis, factor analysis, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of the latest tools and techniques in analytics and data visualization (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
  • 7+ years of related work experience; experience in management consulting or business research roles preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, specifically the ability to solve problems using qualitative and quantitative information and perform root cause and ROI analysis
  • Effective time/project management skills and ability to meet deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness. 
  • Ability to flex communication skills based on the data acumen of peers, qualitative stakeholders, and clients.  
  • Ability to coach and work with teams located across multiple geographies. 
  • Ability to write research and guidance for a non-technical, business audience.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 84,000 USD - 115,920 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
