Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications throughout the development lifecycle. The role identifies and rectifies defects, ensures adherence to established quality standards, and contributes to the overall improvement of the software development process. The role creates and executes comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project specifications. The role monitors software performance and works with teams to optimize application performance and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develops test plan for existing and new functionalities of the application
  • Provide estimation for the qualification of new features/for the enhancements of the existing features. Validate stories for new feature/initiative
  • Leads End-to-End qualification activities
  • Supports weekly release validations
  • Setup of scenarios and environments to validate test cases 
  • Run smoke and regression test cases as needed
  • Validation and debugging of web application, APIs, services and database
  • Work with the development and test teams to strategize upcoming releases based on the deliverables
  • Be part of stakeholder’s meetings related to release planning, prioritizing defect fixes, upcoming sprint plans coordinating with teams across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • System testing of different modules of the system, database and regression testing
  • Requirement management using JIRA and test activity management using test Rail
  • Detailed reporting and logging of defects.
  • Communicates interpretation of results to all key stakeholders. Proactively raise queries, questions, concerns and clearly define risks and impact.
  • Coordinates with the development and program teams to characterize the failures
  • Provides valuable input into the development of user stories and acceptance criteria, shaping a quality-oriented development process.
  • Demonstrates understanding of peripherals domain (mainly printers), connected systems and their network interactions


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.


Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Software Quality Engineer
  • Certified Associate in Software Quality (CASQ)
  • Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE)


Knowledge & Skills

  • Scrum Expertise in software quality assurance tools, processes and testing methodologies e.g.  Agile Methodology, Jira, CI/CD, Jenkins, Test automation
  • Broad technical understanding of system and solutions engineering, web development frameworks and technologies (Ruby, Splunk, etc.)
  • Good fluency as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to pull the cross-functional team together to resolve defects
