Job Description

Fire, police, paramedics, 911 call takers, and 911 dispatchers. And when we or our loved ones place that 911 call, we become the customer of our customers. We want that call to be answered and the communications between the dispatcher and the first responder to be available. In an ever-evolving threat landscape, the Product Security team is at the forefront of defending against cyber threats, helping the business ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our products.  As an Asset Inventory Manager, you will work with various stakeholders to identify, catalog, and ensure accuracy of data and related attributes for our internal asset inventory.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

  • Works with various departments and teams within MSI to identify their assets and document and maintain them.

  • Manage the organization's product asset inventory, ensuring that all product assets are organized and tracked effectively according to process, and work with asset owners to keep the data relevant.

  • Developing procedures: responsible for developing and implementing procedures related to how assets are documented and maintained, and for ensuring that these procedures are followed by all asset owners in the organization.

  • Special projects as needed.

  • An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers, and figure out why things happen.

  • Communicate and open dialogs with stakeholders at all levels and be able to translate some technical concepts or processes into simpler forms (jon: look for example in old req)

  • Data structure onboarding (engaging at director level to define high level structure

  • Work with product teams for Vulnerability Management Platform onboardings


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders.

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience in setting up policies and procedures in a dynamic environment.

  • Proven execution of large scale and complex projects

  • Attention to accuracy and execution is a must

  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment

  • Excellent time management and project management skills

  • Strong ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders

  • Familiarity or willingness to learn about the Secure Software Development Lifecycle

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about security tools like SAST, DAST, SCA

  • Skill in delivering and speaking to technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences

  • Aversion to repeated manual processes and a strong desire to automate them

  • Attention to detail for data organization and consistency

  • Familiarity with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript) and interacting with REST APIs
