Job Description

Collaborating with the Director, Data Design and Investment Division Data Lake (IDDL) Business Support, the Associate Data Analyst, will be a key member of a team of data professionals responsible for delivering key critical initiatives and establishing the data quality program for Manulife GWAM. They will couple their data analysis experience with a solid understanding of the Investment Division’s business and operations to implement the data strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with Global Wealth Asset Management Operational Business &Technical Support teams, GWAM Business Teams (Finance and Risk) and the GWAM Chief Data Office to support the Investment Division Data Lake [IDDL] Daily Production activities to ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely through daily Data Issue Identification, Analysis and Action Planning.

  • You will partner with the GWAM Chief Data Office Data Governance and Data Analytics, support on-going IDDL process improvements, including enhancements to GWAM Operational Capabilities, GWAM Data Quality Monitoring and Controls and GWAM Meta Data Management Tools such as the Business Glossary and Data Lineage.

  • Working with different GWAM teams to support IDDL Design and Development for GWAM Strategic Initiatives. ​

How will you create impact?

The Chief Data Office (CDO) provides centralized oversight and coordination for any activities related to investment data. We provide standardized framework, operating structures, policies, and process to consistently govern and manage GWAM and GA data assets. The individual will be a key member of data design team to lead and support the growth of GWAM and GA data assets and critical data processes such as daily data quality deployment and monitoring.

What we are looking for

  • Highly analytical with strong consulting and problem-solving abilities; tenacity to identify the root cause of problems and apply innovative approaches to solve business data problems

  • Strong service orientation

  • Take personal accountability for issue analysis and resolution

  • Asset management or financial services industry experience

  • Previous experience in the management of large, firm-wide processes

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience in translating between business and technology worlds

  • Champion of change and effectively managing the implementation of new ideas / improvements

  • Confident when dealing with investment professionals, senior management and other partners

  • Knowledge and experience with asset management systems and platforms such as trading/order management, portfolio accounting, client reporting, performance analytics and master data management

  • Technical Skills, such as knowledge, of SQL required to perform data analysis

Salary range is expected to be between

$59,570.00 CAD - $110,630.00 CAD
