The Software Engineer Senior Advisor ensures extensive system and impact analysis based on existing systems, gathers business requirements and performs requirement analysis, and analyzes and evaluates the system performance by analyzing system architecture, stats, trends, and reports.JOB IS FROM: italents.netVIEW

Responsibilities:

  • Build integrated solutions and estimate the effort, resources and schedules required to translate the requirements into feasible technical designs and solutions.
  • Design and implement database restructures in accordance with analysis performed.
  • Develop reliable code, including new programs, and perform end-to-end testing before the product is delivered to the client, utilizing the following technologies: Stratus COBOL, Command Macros, Unix Commands, NEF forms, VSAM, DBQ.
  • Lead the internal and integrated testing of solutions by conducting necessary testing and audits, and using the information gained during testing and audits to identify issues and devise solutions to mitigate risks and address issues.
  • Present solutions to the end users and organize and participate in the daily scrum with the team to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective measures to ensure improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma; GED or equivalent.
  • 10 plus years of experience in application development
  • Expertise in programming language Cobol
  • 2+ years of experience in indexed file handling: ISAM, VSAM
  • Experience in Relational Database: DB2 and SQL
  • Experience with engineering best practices including analyzing, designing, developing, deploying  
  • and supporting software solutions and/or implementations/upgrades
  • Experience in working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment
  • Experience in PBM/Workers Compensation domain would be preferred

Technology Skills:

  • STRATUS Cobol, Command Macros, DBQ, Unix Commands, COBOL 400, DB2400, VSAM, DBQ, Unix, CL, CL 400, OS400, Query400, RLU, SDA, SEU, SQL, SQL400, VAX Cobol, NEF forms.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 123,400 - 205,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
