Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Golang, Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript) and with data structures/algorithms.
  
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  
• Experience with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) kernel or RDBMS storage.
  
• Experience working with worldwide distributed technical teams.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  
• Experience working in scalable multi tenant cloud.
  
• Knowledge of RDBMS core functions such as serializability and consistency.

AlloyDB is part of the Google Cloud Database area and focuses on Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) space and growth accelerator for other Google Cloud products. AlloyDB is a new enterprise grade, cloud native transactional database for high availability and performance. AlloyDB, combines the familiarity of open source PostgreSQL front-end with custom-built storage and query engines for availability, performance, security and manageability.

Responsibilities

• Design algorithms and data structures to enable efficiency, concurrency and performance.
• Understand Postgres internal architecture and iterate and improve.
  
• Design, implement, profile, optimize, fix bugs, and provide customer support for the core database kernel, extensions, and platform topics such as billing, connectivity, etc.
