The Web Developer II is responsible for developing, testing, implementing and maintaining web applications across the university's web infrastructure. They also provide any necessary technical support for these web applications. The ideal candidate has a passion for web development, is a self-starter and works well with others.WPI is passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. The salary range for this position is $62,500 - $78,100, based on experience. The position is hybrid and should be available to come on site as needed, and a minimum of 2 days a week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:• Develop new web applications and new features for existing applications for the WPI community by:
• Communicating with application stakeholders to determine desired functionality/features.
• Designing and constructing new application based on stakeholder needs and utilizing web design/coding best practices.
• Developing and/or utilizing existing integrations as needed for web applications to interact with other WPI IT systems.
• Maintain existing WPI web applications as necessary by:
• Diagnosing and fixing reported bugs.
• Performing application maintenance to keep application frameworks and dependencies up to date.
• Configure web server application infrastructure as necessary by:
• Performing web server configuration.
• Performing configuration of continuous integration/continuous deployment environments.
• Provide support for web application and service issues by:
• Coordinating with IT Service Desk to receive incoming support requests.
• Communicating with customer as necessary to correctly diagnose issue.
• Implementing any necessary bug fixes/changes to address the issue in a timely manner.
