Job Description
As a Business Excellence (BE) Director, you play a key leadership role in accelerating business performance and is a member of the Country Pharma Leadership Team, directly reporting to the General Manager of the local market.
In your role, you are accountable for enabling execution of business strategies by developing and implementing approaches that optimize commercial operations and improve customer engagements. This includes leading the deployment of Omnichannel strategies across the organization, driving sales and marketing excellence and ensuring sales force effectiveness, with robust governance is in place. As BE Director, you also lead the way in providing advanced data analytics to deliver credible and high-quality insights to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
As an enterprise leader, you support the General Manager in driving business transformation initiatives across the organization, through collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams and effective change management.
Key Responsibilities
Excellence in execution
- Develop & lead the implementation of overall business excellence strategy for LOC, aligned with the General Manager and working in close partnership with Regional Leads, Business Unit Directors (BUD), Medical, and relevant cross-functional leads.
- Lead organization’s Omnichannel vision, strategy, and roadmap and effectively drive digital transformation across the enterprise to deliver high quality & integrated customer experience, working closely with Medical and Digital/Tech Teams.
- Build a best-in-class commercial organization by strengthening capability in all commercial roles (sales leaders, sales representatives, marketing, business excellence teams) incorporating the evolving ways of working such as launch excellence, data analytics and omnichannel approach.
- Design and implement Sales Force Incentive programs aligned with business objectives, considering financial feasibility and compliance principles.
- Drive governance by ensuring appropriate controls are in place, by anticipating impact of new regulations and by working with the cross-functional team to ensure timeliness of review and appropriate tracking and monitoring.
Business Analytics
- Develop comprehensive, accurate, high quality business analytics to support strategy implementation, performance management and strategic decision making. This includes sales force effectiveness data, customer segmentation, MCCP/call planning deployment, customer and competitor insights, market and industry data.
- Lead the business target setting, forecasting process and annual brand planning. This includes providing timely update on brand performance by analysing key brand data and market changes to enable teams to stay competitive and agile in commercial decision making.
- Deliver business intelligence across other critical areas, such as patients’ journey, resource optimization, development of go-to-market strategies and co-promotion across portfolio.
Business Transformation
- Lead business transformation initiatives by identifying emerging trends supported by deep market insights, anticipating evolving business needs (e.g. ways of working, technologies and capabilities) and spotting new opportunities (e.g. channels) to enhance customer engagement.
- Guide and oversee the process of organizational change to improve efficiency, competitiveness and innovation.
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrable track record as strategic commercial leader in pharmaceutical industry with experience in marketing and sales leadership
- Experience in leading strategy deployment and change initiatives such as digital transformation
- Business and digital capability experience at a country or above country level with matrix leadership experience in large, global organisations
- Experience in using Omnichannel approaches and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline

- Master’s Degree, MBA, or equivalent is preferred
