The Public Employees Retirement System is recruiting for a Software Application Developer (Information Systems Specialist 6).
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- This position is based at our headquarters office in Tigard, Oregon, however, the successful candidate will be eligible for a 100% remote work schedule.
- This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

What you will be doing:
As a Software Application Developer, (Information Systems Specialist 6) you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend database solutions. Your expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, ETL processes, and SQL stored procedures will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our data systems.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Software Application Developer (Information Systems Specialist 6)
(a) Five (5) years of information systems experience with Financial Systems.
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,
OR
Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
Three (3) years of information systems experience with Financial Systems
OR
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
One (1) year of information systems experience with Financial Systems.
Candidates who are the most competitive will possess the following skills, background, and areas of experience:
- Software Development experience with database technologies and knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and ETL processes.
- Experience with the development of SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Knowledge of database design and data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Preference may be given to those with pension experience
