The Senior Data Scientist uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The Senior Data Scientist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Data Scientist:

• develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
• creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics. Begins to influence department’s strategy.
• makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
• exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• 5+ years of applicable experience

• Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions
• Experience in working with assignments that involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting
• Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics
• Ability to make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 or more years of experience developing machine learning models, with a focus on production-ready algorithms.
• 2 or more years of experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a strong focus on clinical or biomedical text (such as fine-tuning transformer or large language models, training or using word-embedding models, entity or concept extraction, or text mining.)
• Proficiency in Python and packages such as scikit-learn and pandas.
• Proficiency with NLP libraries such as spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, and regex.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms.
• Experience with end-to-end AI product-ionization and model evaluation.

Additional Information

• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

 

$117,600 - $161,700 per year

 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
