About the Team
Software Engineer (Systems): Designs, develops, solves problems and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.About the Role
The Senior Software System Engineer is part of a team supporting and improving the build and test frameworks of several Scala and Java development teams. The Software System Engineer is also responsible for maintaining and improving our continuous integration and delivery initiatives.

About You
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. software development engineer:
- 5 years of build management for Scala or Java applications (Compilation, Unit Tests, packaging, deployment)
- 5 years experience with a CI tool like CruiseControl, Teamcity, Bamboo and Jenkins
Basic Qualifications:
Principal software development engineer
- 7 years of build management for Scala or Java applications (Compilation, Unit Tests, packaging, deployment)
- 7 years experience with a CI tool like CruiseControl, Teamcity, Bamboo and Jenkins
Other Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree of science or higher in relevant field
- 2 plus years working with Ant or Gradle and Ivy
- 1 plus year working with Chef or Puppet
- Good knowledge of bash (or another Unix Shell scripting) or Groovy
- Knowledge of Artifactory is a plus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm Chart a plus
- Experience of AWS or another IaaS provider is a plus
- Proven experience with agile development, continuous development, and deployment processes
- Proven experience improving developer productivity through tools, performance enhancements, self-service, etc
- Ability to analyze technical issues to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with technical leads, developers, quality assurance, operations and product mangers
- Ability to self-manage, self-motivates, and seeks process improvement opportunities with minimal supervision
- Able to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
