Web Solutions Engineer (google)

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 3 years of experience in either system design or in one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  
• 3 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with creating system/product designs and leading them to launch.
  
• Experience working with Protocol Buffers.
  
• Experience working with systems for collaborative code reviews, version control, continuous integration and automated testing.
  
• Experience in multiple programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.
  
• Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems, and a passion for engineering excellence.

Description

Google's Web Solutions Engineers innovate and develop software-based solutions for complex business problems. As a Web Solutions Engineer, you will automate, build scalable solutions, and develop software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable software platforms for teams within YouTube.
  
• Ensure that all technical solutions are designed in a way that enables other teams to easily access data for operational reporting and data visualization.
  
• Collaborate with product engineers to enhance core platforms and create applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
  
• Write and review technical documents, including design, development, revision documents and review code in compiled or scripted languages.
  
• Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements as well as execute testing, debugging, maintenance or program updates.
