We’re looking for a passionate software engineering manager to lead the Contacts Engineering team.
In this role, you will be at the center of Apple’s communication user experiences, with high potential to innovate:
* Showing people in gorgeous yet utilitarian ways across apps.
* Giving control over communication preferences.
* Keeping track of important relationships.
* Making it easy to have accurate, up-to-date information about people.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
* Setting the agenda for how we manage and represent people in our software.
* Maximizing our team effectiveness by mentoring our high growth employees to succeed in lead roles.
* Making the right strategic technology decisions. Building a rich feature set while strengthening reliability.
* Shaping product direction by developing vision and building relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including: peer engineering teams, the design team, senior software leadership, and the product marketing team.
This team has a duty to shape and drive Apple’s communication user experiences. We fulfill our duty by caring deeply, living on our software, developing defensible opinions on what to keep / what to change, and having empathy for the countless users across the world who rely on us every day.

Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- You have experience with UI development, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, API development, threading, data structures, performance, and battery life.
- You have an understanding of sync protocols and databases.
- Education:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience
