We are building the fastest and most reliable network that is required for Apple’s unique needs and supporting all of it’s products and services. The Senior Network Engineer will work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment to design and support our global Backbone and Internet Edge. The position requires deep knowledge of and experience in protocols and systems used within Content or Service Provider Networks.

Description

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for design, testing, documentation, training and operation of new and existing network hardware, software and supporting systems that are deployed within the Global Backbone and Internet Edge. The engineer will also be responsible for capacity planning and budgeting of network hardware and systems intended to be deployed in the network. They will need to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task and collaborate closely with colleagues in Operations, Engineering and Architecture. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer will work across other, cross-functional groups and have the ability and willingness to mentor others.

Minimum Qualifications

6 + years experience in Network Engineering or Operations
Experience in operating a large scale network utilizing BGP, RSVP-TE, MPLS, VPNs, ISIS and/or OSPF
Experience with documentation of Network Design and Test Plans
Experience and knowledge of BGP Routing Policies and Internet Peering
Extensive knowledge of at least one vendor Network Operating System: JUNOS, SR-OS, EOS or IOS-XR are required

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

8+ experience in Network Engineering or Operations Preferred
Experience with one of the following programming languages is a plus: Python, Rust, Go or C
Experience and knowledge of capacity planning and budget planning

Education & Experience

College degree (BA or BS) or relevant experience; technical degree preferred

Advanced Network Certifications preferred

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $148,700 and $264,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
