Our team within the Location Technologies group of Apple’s Sensing & Connectivity org desires a motivated and passionate engineer to help support existing and create new proximity capabilities. Enabling experiences that feel like magic and happen when devices get near each other are the top recent initiatives for the team. We are looking for candidates with interest in location technologies and experience in system design and wireless applications. Description
Our team is looking for a highly motivated engineer with excellent software development, quantitative reasoning, and communication skills. Candidates need to be very familiar with modern object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or Swift, as well as having an understanding of common design patterns, debugging techniques, and performant code. Experience with wireless sensing, location estimation, embedded platforms, the iOS ecosystem and large codebases are welcome backgrounds.

We need to be familiar with the entire software development lifecycle: taking an idea from concept, to prototype, to production. To achieve that goal, clear and frequent communication about the status and progress is paramount. Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years professional experience as a software developer on either mobile or embedded platforms.
- Demonstrates ability to write, debug and profile software in modern C++ and/or Swift.
- Has experience with wireless technologies for ranging, location, sensing.
- Comfortable scripting and developing in Unix-like systems.
- Thrives in a fast paced environment, developing large and complex systems.
- Comfortable navigating large code bases. Experience with refactoring legacy code.
