Job Summary
 

Reporting to the Senior Data Manager, the Salesforce Administrator will serve as an integral member of the Harris IT CRM Technology team and help to maintain a growing list of data analysis tools and resources including but not limited to an ever-evolving Salesforce org. The Salesforce Administrator will actively configure the components and execute data cleaning needed to run and maintain the database system.

Responsibilities

  • Performs user Account Setup and Management, including user account audits.

  • Performs onboarding/offboarding activities.

  • Creates technical documentation, including but not limited to process flows.

  • Provides Salesforce Support for Harris Staff, including Third-Party Application support.

  • May maintain Salesforce Sandbox Inventory and configure/test Harris specific applications.

  • Performs analyses and assists in a variety of Salesforce support activities including, but not limited to, providing support to end users in problem resolution; guiding end users through troubleshooting procedures; developing troubleshooting scripts.

  • Seeks opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance including attending webinars, seminars, and building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.

  • Engage in and lead a program of communication, advocation and promotion of the Salesforce environment and benefits to its use. Drive school use of the environment towards the goals of consistency of use of data, improved business processes, and ultimately better engagement with our community.

  • Manage data going into and out of Salesforce via transforming the data, merging the data, subsetting, and cleaning the data to ensure data integrity and systems that are up to date.

  • Implement integrations of third-party applications to Salesforce; implement integrations with other University systems and databases.

  • Partners with units within the Harris School of Public Policy and other University of Chicago campus teams, including the office of Alumni Relations and Development.

  • With moderate to high levels of direction from others, analyzes the users' requirements and solves routine database problems that ensures users and related applications can access necessary data sets.

  • Interprets existing data and populates the database with new data from external sources. Maintains documentation on data models, data dictionaries, physical database configuration, and daily database maintenance functions.

  • Participates in the development of queries and retrieval systems.

  • Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Professional work experience in a technical support role.

  • Two years of experience maintaining user permissions.

Certifications:

  • Salesforce Level I certification.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and familiarity with Trailhead for both personal training purposes as well as onboarding training.

  • Knowledgeable of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Harris School, including the University's donor relationship management system, Microsoft Windows computer environment and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Salesforce.

  • Experience with HubSpot, especially related to HubSpot to Salesforce integration.

  • Experience with Symplicity.

  • Experience with CVENT events platform.

  • Experience with Salesforce HTML and JSON.
