In this context, the AI Lab, within the HP’s Future Technologies and Experiences team (FT&E) is conducting applied research in Gen AI with a focus on the edge. The resulting innovations will influence the HP Personal Systems product portfolio.
Job details
The FT&E AI Lab is looking for an individual to join as Senior Applied AI Scientist in our AI Solutions Lab team. The team will explore and push the boundaries in applied Gen AI research with a focus on edge applications, and work with different stakeholders to bring amazing technology into products. The candidate will be involved in the research and development of multimodal large vision models (LVMs) and will work with other team members and business unit partners to develop proof-of-concept prototypes and help move technologies from research to product. The role will involve research, development and model optimization for edge use cases. Technical activities include model research, model fine-tuning and optimization for edge, synthetic data collection, model error analysis, continuous model improvement and monitoring. We encourage the publication of papers at top conferences and other venues showcasing the work of the team.
Responsibilities
• Provides technology leadership in AI/ML with deep expertise in large vision models (LVMs).
• Demonstrates expertise in language models and/or reinforcement learning.
• Responsible for the development of a particular AI application workstream, plans milestones and deliverables, aligns priorities and facilitates trajectory from research to product.
• Leads innovation that improves on the state of the art.
• Develops Generative AI (LVMs, LMMs) models for target applications.
• Works with technologists and business unit leaders on model strategy from concept to deployment.
• Works with University partners on joint research efforts.
• Represents the team in subject area of expertise when interfacing with stakeholders.
• Prepares and makes presentations, produces patents, and publishes in industry/academic conferences.
• Provides domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.
• Ties insights into effective visualizations communicating business value and innovation potential.
• Assures insights are communicated regularly and effectively, reviewing models and data compliance.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Graduate Degree (typically a PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 3+ years of work experience, preferably in machine learning, or a related field.
• A track record of demonstrated innovation (patents/publications/product contributions).
• A track record of product contributions and technology leadership.
Preferred Certifications
• Python, Pytorch, Tensorflow, Huggingface, Gen AI application development: Large Vision and Multimodal models.
