About the role:
Gartner is looking for well-rounded and motivated developers to join the Gartner Peer Insights Team. This team is responsible for developing a scalable and secure platform for Gartner Peer Platform sites. The team works on advanced tools and techniques for high performance web development, data processing and system integration.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with leads to explore existing systems, determine areas of opportunities.
- Build and deliver Spring Boot applications integrating with various databases, AWS Services and REST APIs.
- Work with Open-source technologies and applications using Java technology in a fast paced Agile/Scrum environment.
- Follow coding standards, build appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts and review project artifacts created by peers.
- Translate designs and style guides provided by the Design team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance.
- Contribute to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface, software architecture or new technologies.
What you will need:
Strong IT professional with 2-3 yrs of experience in software development using Java technology. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high ownership and accountability.
Must have:
- 2+ yrs of relevant experience in Core Java using J2EE, Spring Boot frameworks.
- Experience working with relational databases & non-relational databases like Postgres & Elastic Search
- Experience working with consumption/creation of Restful APIs.
- Strong understanding of OOPS, Design principles and Distributed systems.
- Good understanding of security best practices.
Nice to have:
- Experience in React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS or cloud platforms like AWS/Azure.
- Experience working with Jenkins and Git or similar automation/repository management tools.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
- Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
- Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.
- Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
