You will be working in the Market Risk reporting team of Global Markets technology, building software solutions that will help our business manage traded market risk effectively. We build software applications and manage software systems of various sizes to deliver high quality financial solutions. Technical deliveries in the various teams include working with popular technology tools for both on-prem as well as Cloud based software.

The technology group is made up of small vertical teams that delivers product-based software solutions and horizontal teams that work across the numerous teams to ensure that we uplift the learnings, use best practices, and enrich our overall knowledge base.

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll be working within a cross-functional squad which is responsible for developing and managing customer capabilities. We are looking for a smart, driven and resilient engineer who enjoys delivering customer and business solutions in a collaborative, iterative and simple manner. Also, you’ll be invited to attend our regular engineering guilds to broaden your expertise and participate in agile ceremonies, which will allow you to contribute to and define the way we operate.

  • Have solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and best practices.

  • Can lead a team from a tech strategy and delivery perspective.

  • Interested in cross team knowledge sharing for better software development

  • Collaborates within the team to apply the principles of design, development, testing, deployment, support, and evaluation.

  • Are actively involved in continuous learning, experimentation, and participate in peer code reviews.

  • Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems.

  • Work well in teams and have strong collaboration skills in driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Background in building Java based APIs and Python based apps for data science

  • Frontend framework – React and other typescript libraries

  • Databases - Oracle, Snowflake

  • Strong background in AWS Cloud – VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, ECS, MWAA, S3, VPC Endpoints  

  • Any experience with the following would be great – TDD, Docker, DevSecOps principles and tools like Github Actions

Domain Skills

  • Good understanding of Global Markets and associated Market risk (Sensitivities, VaR, Capital reporting) will be considered highly advantageous.
