Job Description

Data Scientist, Senior

Key Role:

Support enterprise-wide, data-driven strategic human capital for a large DoD organization by leveraging a data science approach to Human Resources (HR) data. Perform research, analyze data, and compile and develop reports for HR. Develop insightful data visualizations that enable senior leaders to manage and implement a data-based strategy for a specialized, highly educated, and diverse workforce across multiple programs and locations. Support a multi-disciplinary HR team to gain more actionable workforce insights from existing diversity data and help guide the team to move beyond descriptive reporting towards relevant insights and actions from data. Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the enterprise to expand the capabilities of the organization through analytics, product experiences, and operational excellence. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience using programming languages, including Python, R, or Java, to manipulate and analyze data 

  • 2+ years of experience using SQL to conduct complex database queries and conduct data visualization using Tableau 

  • Experience applying data science techniques to analyze human resource data to gain insights and make informed decisions about workforce management, recruitment, training, and overall HR strategies.

  • Knowledge of the analytics maturity model, data strategy, and data governance 

  • Ability to create pivot tables, formulas, and sophisticated macros and data models using Microsoft Excel and VBA

    Ability to display business judgment in anticipating client or project needs and developing alternative solutions 

  • Ability to be a self-starter with initiative, pay attention to details, and present complex information to non-technical audiences  

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree  

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience applying AI and ML concepts to solve business problems, make data-driven decisions, and develop predictive analysis products 

  • Experience implementing data strategy and data governance practices 

  • Knowledge of natural language processing techniques 

  • Knowledge of commercial cloud services used by the IC 

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating information to a senior executive audience 

  • Possession of excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and research skills

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, Data Analytics, or a related technical field 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
