The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, highly analytical, and detail oriented with a strong customer focus and perspective to drive strategy in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable working at both strategic level (using customer insights and data to generate innovative ideas for growth) and at tactical level (building dashboards and monthly reports to measure business health). In this highly visible role you will serve as liaison between the business and technical teams to identify, develop, and execute quantitative analyses and provide actionable insights into current business performance.

Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated reports, dashboards and user-friendly systems etc. to provide actionable insights into current business performance.
- Apply your deep analytic and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets.
- Partner with business/economist/software engineering/science teams to consult, develop and implement KPI’s, automate solutions and data infrastructure improvements to support our business needs.
- This role will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Find scalable solutions for recurring ad-hoc investigations
About the team
Our team owns analytics and BI infrastructure across breadth of business areas like Manga, Demand, Supply Chain, Marketing and Vendor management. Each team member owns and acts as subject matter expert for their business area within our organization. We partner with business leaders, product managers and software teams to launch Amazon JP products, gamification experiments and measure success of new strategic initiatives. This is an exciting role where you’ll get to learn different aspects of how Amazon runs a business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalent- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in sciences, engineering, finance or equivalent- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
