This position in the Department of Pathology and Immunology provides technical and analytical work to develop, design, and/or support applications for research and clinical functions of scientists and clinicians. Employees participate in designing and developing informatics solutions using software engineering expertise to include maintenance, modification, or novel implementation of complex inter-related applications/solutions. Duties include participating in designs, developing code based on the architecture and technical design finalized and approved by Section of Pathology Informatics Faculty, creating and performing unit tests, test case planning for components and functions developed by the employee, and maintaining use access and authorization control.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts workflow study and analysis of business practices: Analyzes and documents existing processes as they relate to information technology solutions.
- Performs application lifecycle activities, including: Code, monitor, maintain, test and debug software applications; follows established change management processes; facilitates code reviews and enforces code standards; develops and executes test plan development; researches and evaluates new technology, products, specialized hardware and tools to optimize development and functionality of applications; makes recommendations to management and customers; assists in ensuring team members complete tasks as assigned, taking corrective action to stay on schedule.
- Provides support for complex operational activities and recoveries; coordinates with software vendors and external service providers; troubleshoots escalated software bugs and provides fixes.
- Provides strong leadership, cultivates and fosters excellent customer service; enforces adherence to departmental standards; instructs, trains and guides less experienced staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

$75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
