About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic and experienced senior cardiorespiratory Physiotherapists to join the SVHM weekend physiotherapy service. You wil provide leadership and support for our team of weekend physiotherapists and provide service to priority patients in the Intensive Care Unit & High Dependency Unit.
You will join a cohesive and progressive integrated team, who are committed to excellence in clinical practice, research, service improvement and professional development.
The role also involves the supervision, mentoring and support of junior grade 1 weekend staff and coordination of weekend caseloads. The ability to provide excellent ICU, HDU and acute cardiorespiratory physiotherapy management is essential.
Staff will be employed on casual contracts and are able to nominate the weekends they can work. Shifts will be up to 6 hours on both Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
Current, or eligibility for national physiotherapy registration is essential.
- Provide expert clinical management for all patients in the Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit and acute cardiorespiratory wards (in conjunction with grade 1)
- Provide a tertiary level of consultancy in outlying wards as required
Classifications for this position will range from Physiotherapist Grade 3 VB7 - VC1 ($51.66 - $59.03 per hour plus casual loading)
Your Contribution
- Minimum of 7 years post graduate physiotherapy experience
- Recent physiotherapy experience in an ICU setting
- Demonstrated superior assessment and treatment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to staff supervision, development and continuing education
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain
