OnsiteThis position would be part of the Embedded Software team in Vergennes, VT. As a member of the team, you would be working with other Software Engineers to implement software solutions as part of the site’s diverse product lines. This include Fuel Sensing Systems, HUMS (Health and Usage Management System), Proximity Sensing and Actuation products.
The products we develop are used in commercial and military applications and require certification to industry standards (DO-178C). As in intern within the Software Team, you would be supporting one of more development efforts and performing activities that contribute to the development, verification and certification of software.
What You Will Do:
- You will be a part of a team that is developing products used in commercial and military aircraft and rotocraft.
- You will have the opportunity to work with hardware and test equipment used during the implementation, integration and verification of software.
- You will develop your skills with software application tools, including C, Python and MatLab/Simulink.
- You will be working on software products that will ultimately be used on the aircraft you fly when traveling.
What You Will Learn:
- Learn software design, development, and verification for Collins Sensors & Controls Product lines, which include Fuels Sensing Systems, Health and Usage Management Systems, Actuation Systems.
- Understand the DO-178 process as the relate to the certification of Airborne Software.
- Gain domain knowledge by contributing to software life cycle artifacts.
- Collaborate in a team environment and build your network.
- Gain experience interacting with other engineering disciplines (Systems, Electrical and Test Engineering).
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with use of SW Repositories: (Tortoise SVN, Git, etc)
- MatLab / Simulink experience
- Students should be a at Sophomore, Junior or Senior status by summer of 2025

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
