What you’ll do at Elekta 

 

As a Software Engineer in our Neuro business line, you will be developing Leksell GammaPlan, a desktop Linux-based integrated treatment planning system for the Leksell Gamma Knife®. By designing efficient, reliable, and high-performance software solutions, your work will directly contribute to helping medical professionals plan personalized and precise cancer treatments. You will be part of a collaborative team of around 15 Software Engineers, working in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment to drive innovation in cancer treatment. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

In this hands-on role, you will contribute to all phases of the software development and maintenance lifecycle in C++, including requirements, design, implementation, and testing. Coding and peer reviews will be a major part of your daily work. 

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to 

  • Participating in all phases of software R&D projects, with a focus on requirement specification, design, planning, implementation, testing, and documentation, while adhering to company standards. 
  • Evaluating technologies, methodologies, and products to enhance software development. 
  • Applying Agile principles and practices, following the SAFe methodology as part of a Scrum team. 
  • Understanding and adhering to Elekta’s quality system while contributing to its continuous improvement. 

What you bring 

 

To thrive in this role, you should enjoy working in an Agile team environment and be comfortable discussing, reviewing, and verifying your work and that of the team before it reaches end users. We also expect that you have: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in C++ development 
  • Experience in a team-based environment with disciplined use of source code version control and branch management 
  • A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 
  • Professional proficiency in English. 

 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with multi-disciplinary product development 
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems 
  • Previous experience in a medical or other regulated industry.
