Job Description
Join a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining seamless integrations between Motorola Solutions' products and a wide range of third-party applications. You will contribute directly to the core functionality of our systems, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient communication between internal and external platforms.
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will play a vital role in building and testing software interfaces using an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) architecture. You will work closely with solution architects and senior engineers to understand customer requirements and translate them into robust and efficient code. This is a hands-on role offering valuable experience in full-stack development within a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain interfaces between Motorola Solutions' products (including CAD, RMS, Real-Time Command & Control, and Analytics) and various third-party systems.
Design, implement, and test ETL processes to ensure seamless data transfer and transformation.
Develop and maintain adapters for various third-party and Motorola Solutions' systems.
Implement data transformation logic including field mapping, filtering, triggering, and business rule enforcement.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve technical challenges.
Contribute to the improvement of development processes and code quality.
Learn and apply various technologies including, but not limited to: Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, C#, and SQL.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
Experience with at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C#, etc.) is preferred.
Familiarity with database concepts (SQL) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
Note: Candidate must be in the Chicago office 1-2 days per week.

Basic Requirements
High School Diploma is required
Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science) with a graduation date of December 2024 or later
