Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications and services using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, SOAP, REST, XML, and HTTP.
- Troubleshoot, optimize and resolve issues early in projects to ensure smooth progress.
- Design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Conduct effective unit testing.
- Optimize web application performance for high utilization and 24x7 accessibility.
- Integrate third-party services and products with internal systems, leveraging cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, ECS, Kubernetes) and relational/non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- Ensure secure coding practices using security tools (e.g., Veracode, SonarCloud) to protect data and applications.
Key Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on experience developing web applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in RESTful and SOAP web services, XML, and web protocols (HTTP).
- Strong experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and other databases.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and practices such as Veracode and SonarCloud.
- Experience with unit, integration, and performance testing using frameworks like JUnit and TestNG.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for high-traffic web applications.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in web development, focusing on Java technologies.
- Proven track record of developing complex, high-performance applications using Java and related technologies.
Desirable Skills:
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior developers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Conduct comprehensive testing (unit, integration, performance) and ensure software scalability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies, continually updating technical skills.
