We are the Murex Platform team part of the Murex crew in IB&M Technology. Here, we work in close collaboration with the Murex Functional teams focusing on the various key functions of the platform (Front-Office/Pre-trade, Operations/Post-trade, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Collateral management).

Our purpose is to provide a stable, scalable and resilient platform and help those teams and their business stakeholders realise maximum value from Murex. To achieve this, we are constantly improving all the facets of the platform including how it is deployed in the cloud, how it is set up and structured, and, finally how it’s operated.  Equally important to us is the rollout of self-serve capabilities through web portals, to manage non-production workloads as well as take on administrative functions in the production workspace.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Demonstrable hands on software engineer experience building applications with a focus on building the best public cloud-hosted infrastructure to support trading platforms like Murex

• Have a proven track record of trading systems implementations in the cloud, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code and a deep understanding of key AWS services (ec2, RDS, Fxs, Lambda and Step Function

• Have experience building front to back Web applications using the common frameworks (Angular, React, Serverless python backend etc)

• Are knowledgeable building and enhancing CICD pipelines, optimising performance and cost, and improving the resilience and quality of service to the Business

• Can provide code quality control through peer programming, code review and automated pipeline release management

• Pride themselves on mentoring and coaching junior team members whilst sharing their knowledge to uplift and improve software development practices

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Full-Stack Experience (Angular/React Frontend, Python serverless backend)

• Clean code paradigms

• AWS CDK

• AWS Lamdba / Step Functions / API Gateway

• CI/CD tools (i.e. GitHub Actions, Step Functions).

• Observability (especially the OpenTelemetry framework)

• Python

• REST APIs (front- and backend)

• DevSecOps experience 

• Java

• Unit testing backend and frontend
