Job Description

Under minimal supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and support of ERP systems, ancillary platforms, and custom software solutions. This role prioritizes crafting scalable, high-performance software systems while addressing business needs through innovative and efficient development practices. The Software Engineer will bring their expertise in full-stack development, server management, implementation of CI/CD pipelines, utilization and deployment of observability platforms and other DevOps tools. This role demands strong technical problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to enhancing system reliability and functionality.

The Software Engineer’s responsibilities include architecting and deploying robust software solutions, guiding end-users in utilizing systems effectively, leading project timelines and deliverables, enforcing quality standards, and fostering a collaborative team environment through mentorship.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or other closely related field
Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or other closely related field preferred.

Experience:

6 years experience with software engineering, to include analyzing requirements, designing and implementing architecture both in the cloud and on-prem, and programming and supporting software solutions throughout the SDLC lifecycle.
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. 
Experience in project management of mid-size projects of over 3 months in duration is preferred.
Previous lead role in implementation/support of a ‘like’ application/application suite is preferred.

Skills:

•    Strong skills in full-stack software development, including development, testing, and deployment of applications, databases, servers, and otherwise as appropriate
•    Strong skills in building and maintaining solutions in cloud hosting services like AWS or Azure.
•    Strong skills in programming, software, and network security to ensure all data remains secure as it flows throughout the infrastructure.
•    Skills in implementation, maintenance, and daily usage of source control, CI/CD workflows, observability and traceability solutions, and other DevOps tooling.
•    Thorough knowledge of computer systems and methods utilized in a Healthcare setting.  
•    Strong skill in written and oral communication.
•    Skill in data analysis and interpretation.
•    Skill in business process analysis and business integration.
•    Skills in Workday Custom Reports, Integration Systems, EIB, and Studio (or equivalent in other HRIS/ERP systems).
•    Knowledge of programming languages and frameworks such as Javascript, React, and C# .NET
•    Skills with database work, including writing SQL code and usage of SSMS or similar to run ETL processes
•    ITSM System Experiences and Management Reporting
•    Workday Security Administration and Configuration (or equivalent in other HRIS/ERP systems)
•    MS Office Suite and SharePoint Administration

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Implements and maintains custom software as needed, providing full-stack support.  Acts as technical owner and steward for these systems.
•    Engineer infrastructure solutions to implement and maintain continuous integration, testing, and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
•    Leverage tools like Jira, Github, and Confluence to track development activities, control source code, and author design, architecture, and supporting (configuration and troubleshooting) documentation.
•    Collaborate closely with other systems analysts/developers, IT leadership, and end users to understand and implement DevOps infrastructure needs.
•    Works with the team to implement and follow best practices in testing, change management, and other components of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
•    Performs user group facilitation, which includes meeting preparation, facilitation, feedback, request prioritization and status updates.
•    Proposes system solutions that are designed to address business problems identified and educates the user group on available options, pros/cons, estimated completion times, etc. 
•    Ensures that all application changes to their owned application follow appropriate change control measures for quality control purposes and to avoid/eliminate any system issues created as a result.   
•    Serves as the single communication conduit to MIS vendor(s), and user community for any/all changes to the application of primary ownership and the relevancy of these changes. 
•    Identifies gaps and potential solutions between user needs and MIS resources to educate/assist manager on business payback for appropriate resource allocation.
•    Resolves all technical issues to assigned application(s) in a timely and appropriate manner:  based upon complexity, priority, available options.
•    Manages projects to defined timeline and budget by leveraging standard project tools (ie charter workplan, issues list, budget)
•    Mentors team members and users on area of application/technical expertise.  Aggressively identifies situations to provide input that is prompt, respectful and specific to an overall better outcome.

Pay Range

$75,318.06 - $135,572.50

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
