The Pediatric Division of Infectious Disease and Global Health, within Mass General for Children (MGHfC), is performing cutting edge research around the world to optimize the health of infants, children, and adolescents funded by NIH, industry sources, and other philanthropic entities. We are seeking a dynamic and goal-oriented Data Analyst I to work with Principal Investigators (PIs), Co-Investigators (co-Is), Research team members, and Grants Administrators.
The Data Analyst I will have direct interaction with PIs for at least 15 different research projects with varying foci. The optimal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and will have a demonstrated record of excellent technical, communication, and team skills. This individual will be able to prioritize activities to meet the needs of the various PIs and to communicate when asked to complete projects where deadlines are in conflict between PIs. The Data Analyst I will be responsible for managing research databases and supporting IT infrastructure for clinical trials, prospective observational studies, and cross-sectional studies. The candidate will be involved in all data management aspects, including quality assurance (QA), quality compliance (QC), and data analysis using R, Stata, SAS, SPSS or similar tools.

Primary anticipated responsibilities include:
• Data analyses using R, Stata, SAS, SPSS or similar tools for the purpose of QA, QC, database management, and production of scheduled and ad hoc reports. Possess the ability to write and revise basic analytical code in R, Stata, SAS, or SPSS with minimal supervision.
• Design and maintain databases for storing and analyzing data.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for QA and QC and image management procedures.
• Maintaining IT infrastructure for the department and collaborating with Mass General Brigham (MGB) Information Systems (IS) and external vendors, as needed.
• Closely collaborate with PIs, co-Investigators, Project Managers, Research Staff, and Clinical Research Coordinators, including teams based in globally diverse locations.
• Develop interactive tools that will allow for data visualization of key metrics of a study
• Analysis of model outputs.
• Co-author or first author manuscripts, with the ability to perform a review of the literature and use software to created tables and figures for manuscripts

Skills and Competencies Required:
At minimum a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or statistics, but Master’s level degree preferred
Strong database management skills and ability to perform data extraction from national or local patient databases
Proficiency with R, Stata, SAS, or SPSS (or similar software)
Strong creative skills for data visualization and analysis
Strong work ethic, excellent organization skills, with solid time management skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work for multiple supervisors and to negotiate deadlines
Cultural sensitivity to facilitate harmonious interactions with research teams based in other countries
A strong interest in participating in clinical and public health research
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with scientific and healthcare informatics
Willingness to learn and work with computer-based simulation models
Ability to perform medical literature searches
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with physicians and researchers
