Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with IRN personnel to assess their needs and identify the most effective types of data visualizations, charts, and tools to meet organizational goals and audience requirements.
- Selects, configures and implements data visualization tools.
- Develops and delivers dashboards, interactive visualizations, and web-based applications as required.
- Applies basic statistical concepts and techniques for data analysis and interpretation, ensuring insights are accurate and meaningful.
- Develops, documents and applies data visualization best practices to align with organizational needs, branding and accessibility standards.
- Provides technical training to IRN personnel, either individually or in groups.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance data visualization capabilities.
- Stays current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data visualization.
- Supports the Research Development team and IRNs by contributing to funding proposals, reports, presentations, manuscripts etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or related field.
- Five years professional experience in data visualization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or related field.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary research teams in a research-intensive university setting. Experience working in public health research highly desirable.
- Strong aptitude for translating complex technical data into clear, accessible, and visually compelling formats for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven proficiency with Power BI, QlikView, Tableau and/or other data visualization tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

$65,900.00 - $112,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
