We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing data for both human and AI analytics, ensuring that our data is structured effectively for various analytical purposes.

Qualified candidates must be solution-oriented, business-focused, and analytically driven with required technical expertise and team collaboration skills. This role is remote based outside the US, collaborating with a global team headquartered in Chicago.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models that accurately represent complex data relationships
  • Prepare and transform data for use in analytics by both human analysts and AI systems
  • Differentiate between normalized relational data structures and tabular analytical data, applying the appropriate approach based on project requirements

  • Utilize PowerBI and Power Query to create effective data visualizations and perform data transformations
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders in the financial and commercial real estate domains
  • Creating, implementing, optimizing and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models in both relational and non-relational environments 
  • Documenting functional requirements and system specifications into the data architecture and detailed design specifications for current and proposed designs 
  • Demonstrating proactive approaches to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options, and where appropriate, leading to resolution 
  • Maintaining highly effective and consistent communication within the team, peers, and the leadership team

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices
  • Experience in preparing data for various analytical purposes, including AI-driven analytics
  • Proficiency in working with both normalized relational data and tabular analytical data
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and Power Query
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Curious mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
  • Fluent in SQL
  • Knowledge of and experience with enterprise source systems and strong understanding of enterprise integration. 
  • Experience in agile methodologies, tools, standards and procedures 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
  • Ability to work well under deadlines, ability to work in a multi-tasking production environment to make good judgments about competing priorities. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience 
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders & evangelize cross functional teams to adopt/implement common data model
